Predict my 1/4 mile time

No info on the heads makes it pretty tough to guess. But my gut says it’ll 60 like a 10 second car, but MPH like a 13 second car..... mid to low 12’s if it runs well.
Gary, I'd like to add, that those M/T Pros with the 5.13 gears might be hard pressed to 60ft like a 10 second ride. Based on my experience with the same ratio many years ago. My thoughts.

It takes torque & power with a GOOD suspension to do 10 second 60 ft times. 5.13 is deep, but you can get way down in the 12's without a ton of power & a deep gear. A 4.10 or so would be a better choice I'd think.

Hey guys sorry it's been a while but first pass off the trailer 12.9 best was 12.83 @ 103.3 it wa 90 degrees outside. I plan to go 3 inch exhaust with x pipe from 2.5 with H and go back to track on a cooler day hoping to improve times. 60 foot was 1.76. car now has 4.10 gears. Also went 31 x 16.5 mickey T.

If it only runs 103 it probably has a hydraulic purple shaft. No way it needs the Victor intake. Performer RPM would be a far better choice. 3800 stall for a dedicated drag car is low as well. Lets the time slip.

It is a purple shaft hydraulic I don’t know which one my guess is 509. I switched to a torker II intake port matched and flow benched. Not dedicated drag car, street strip.

Hope your not looking for an improvement in going from 2 1/2 to 3" exhaust on a 103 mph car. I guess the exception could be if you have an internal collapsed muffler. But if so, just replace it.

I don’t expect for it to put me in the 11’s but it’s not gonna hurt. I’m just doing cheap / easy things while I save for aluminum heads .

Based on what you described, the car should be faster. I would maybe find out why before making changes that are not the problem.

Didn't see what stock heads you have, but there is a lot of ET & MPH in inexpensive basic porting on a stock head. I did my own porting on my 1st set of 906's, went from 12.30/111 to 11.90/116+. Just bowl work, taking out the lip. Today a good "perf machine shop can do better with a deep cut valve job. A couple more porting efforts produce 11 teens/120. 440, 11.5 actual CR, .585 solid cam. The basic porting gives you much better performance on both street & strip, no negatives. Exhaust won't get you much if anything with your combo, it's not that cheap either.

cost me 160$ and the car had to much drone when crusing, I guess I shouldn't have posted in the racing section.. I have bone stock 906 heads I think. not wasting time and or money on them just saving for either 440 source or edlebrock heads

You're good posting here. Anyone that goes to the track and cares about performance should post here, IMO.

As BSB67 said, you are in the correct place, keep posting!!!

The cam is the killer here not knowing, could be a .484 hyd. or a .590 sft cam...night and day difference.

I ran a 3300lbs race car with a stock 6-pk bottom end..9.8:1....stock 906's, team G/850DP and that motor made an on track 450fwhp as per weight/mph, I ran the old McAndless .650", [email protected] sft cam. I ran 4.88's/14x32's...trapped@6600/4800stall

All I can say is if you have a decent cam and the motor makes 450fwhp with your chassis spec you could be running past 7000rpm@the stripe dependent on conv. slip.
60 Foot E.T. : 1.67
1/8 Mile E.T. : 7.57
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 89.75
1/4 Mile E.T. : 12.00
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 112
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,757+?

???. Car has a 4.10

ok so if you drop 4.10's in it you'll pull around 5500@traps+slip, (if you've got 450fwhp), good if you've got a mild cam in it, not so good if its racey, I would go 4.56 for around 6300@traps which will be better to get that weight moving.

12.7's to 12.9's. Aside from the unknown on the cam, what about valve springs, running the 1/4 with 5.13's..

So I think it's the 509 mp purple or 484 based off how it drives/runs and sounds. I plan to pull the cover off this winter and ID the cam. Don't know the weight of the car. Hydraulic flat tappet for sure and the car was around 5500 threw the lights. After changing the exhaust the wideband I put in is showing a slightly lean WOT ratio so I added 3 jets to the secondary side back around 12.5 to 1. Running 39 deg total timing no ping. Gonna head back to the track next week to hopefully beat my 12.83. It will be about 30 degrees colder outside and went from 2.5 inch x pipe and chambered mufflers to 3 inch x pipe straight threw mufflers. Also plan to launch differently and try changing shift points.

^^^ Love the old school, street / strip pre- pro street stance. Getting tired of seeing street cars that looked like someone stepped on them ,slammed on the ground ,pro touring cars that travel 100 miles a year.
