Welcome cool car ! Being an export the number thing makes a bit more sense now!
I'm going to assume there was 386 exported to Canada or just exported !
If this is the case I don't think this number is relivenet!

No in 1974 there was only 386 automatic 440 roadrunner gtx built this was the last year that the gtx was built why i am asking for more verification is that if this person was telling me that supposedly has the data base for these car that makes mine the last gtx built

The 386 number is “shipped for sale in the US”.

Canada sold and export numbers are not included in that total. Yours is a Canada sold car so it is not included in the 386.

Because of the way cars were built, there is no way to determine 'first' or 'last'. Highest VIN does not equal 'last'.

As your car was built in March and assuming the potential to built at least one more car existed in four months of remaining production, it is unlikely your car was the last one built.

there were only 386 produced in total it was a short production year as it says on the fender tag my car was built in Windsor ont

69coronetrt knows his fender tag and build info.

If he says it, I believe it.

I almost bought a LOADED 74 RR/GTX in black/black with a white stripe with PW and a sunroof back in 1992 for a whopping $500.

I have an old article somewhere that states how rare the 1974 Road Runner GTX with a 440 was - maybe I can find it. I don't recall the build quantities but it was in the low hundreds.

It is a neat car! Welcome to the site!

Welcome from the show me state!!

Again, 386 is the number of RRGTX's that were shipped to US dealerships in the 1974 model year. I have heard the "short production year" rumors before, but am pretty sure there were cars being spit out through at least the end of June. I don't think they shortened the year so much as maybe just slowed production a bit. As stated before, since yours is a Canadian spec car, it is not counted in that 386 number. And since your car was scheduled to be built in March, there was at least 3 more months of cars being produced.
