Anyone ever work for the census bureau?

I can't even possibly fathom being a census taker in my neck of the woods.
There's been stories...topped only by what happens to property tax assessors.

Yea no way in todays society would this job be worth the risk. Morons stealing packages and other home invasion type **** has people on edge.. You walking up to a house in the country would most likely not work out too well. Hell, I have seen some cars in yards that I would like to talk to people about but the last thing I want is to get shot just for asking about an old *** car. These are different times and the world has gone nuts.

A guy I worked with pulled a gun on a census worker for waking him up. That was a mistake. Haven’t seen him since.

If I ended up on the door to door detail, I'd be knocking pretty softly. Doorbells are not something I use. So, working for the census or driving a school bus.....hmm decisions decisions.
