I just learned of a NEW Pick-N-Pull yard opening in Sacramento!

This location is the very same place that USED to be MATHER Auto Dismantlers. They used to be an ALL MOPAR yard up until the mid 90s.
Who knows what lurks there. I'll be there Friday to check it out!

The yard where there use to be a row of E bodies... The yard where Jim V took the photos of an AAR being parted out

That is a sad thought but these were just "used cars" before they became classics!

Without a doubt... I remember walking through a flooded wrecking yard & hoods & doors were used to bridge larger puddles... The one hood wasn't a great choice for a bridge, it had a big hole in the middle... Yup Shaker...

OOoof !
You think anyone will wig out for a 2011 Ford Focus in 2043 ??

AND, it’s on Happy Lane. Mather Field. Helped Rancho Cambodia get its name.

Just a wee bit out of the neighborhood...but sounds interesting.

I bet you won't find much in the way of any older MOPAR parts. Pick N Pull now only caters to the newer stuff and Asian/ European cars. When I used to live in CA, I would check them out as well because the Fairfield yard ran out of older MOPARS...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

I'll bet you don't find much in the way of older Mopar parts at virtually any yards other than specialty yards these days... They are pretty much gone & the ones that are left are prized to highly to get scrapped.... But if you don't look you have zero chance of finding the needle in the haystack....

Back in the 90's & early 2000 timeframe there was lots of stuff but those days have passed... Such is life, deal with it... Or buy a Chevy Lumina cause Pick n Pull still has lots of parts for those...

In the 70s, a group of Cambodian refugees were relocated here. Jerry Brown fought against it because the group were believed to have political leanings that ran in opposition to HIS own party.

use to be a decent Salvage yard/Auto wrecker
haven't been down there for 10+ years now
hasn't been much there for over 10+ years now too
picked over & over priced crap, last time I was there

not interested in a 2011 Ford Focus, ever or never will be

Jeez, is everything with you a left-wing conspiracy?

When subjects are obvious, do you turn a blind eye?

Roger that! About the only thing you can grab now days are the mini starters and not much else!

Specific Mopar nuts and bolts, Clips and terminal ends of wires, Trucks still have parts that sometimes cross over to cars. 1970s trucks with manual transmissions have steering columns that can be picked for parts to convert car columns to floor shift design, Small block engine brackets, etc.

I was there today. Good weather too.
I walked the yard with no knowledge of what was in the place. They have an online inventory system but I wanted to explore and see what was there. The new gravel that they laid down was like walking through sand...good thing it wasn't hot. I had a wheelbarrel with my tools.
I saw a cart with a familiar grill strapped to it. It looked like a 60s Plymouth. This looks promising.
I got to the Mopar section...which so often seems to be at the diagonally opposite from the entrance of almost every junkyard. Sure, we can all use some exercise but Christ...
I got to the Mopars. I saw the Plymouth and a guy standing next to it and said..."Hey, a 66 Valiant."

The man standing next to the car was FABO and FBBO member Hemi71X. Now, he has always been a knowledgeable fellow but also one of the least humorous and most grumpy guys that I have ever met. He saw me and stumbled off, making his way to the cashier with whatever stuff he pulled. He didn't say a word.
I looked over the Mopar section as well as this Valiant and figured that it had nothing that I needed. The body is good, glass is good, it is a 2 door slant six automatic.
I left and got about 2-3 miles down the road and WHOA....It occurred to me...The '66 model is the exact model that had the ONE YEAR only steering column that I need to make my '65 Valiant convertible work with a later 904 transmission. The 65 used a cable shift, one year only trans and I am NOT going to take the time to find one of those. The 66 and later 904s are everywhere. The '66 parts bolt in and look as if they belong there.
I also grabbed the ignition switch because it had a key in it. Score!
