You're a big guy, nobody wants to mess up with you broI like aggressive. I am not the guy that people get aggressive with.![]()
It was a common thing back in the 60's and probably in the 50's. I heard it many times years ago but only occasionally these days. Even had a old cam box that had 3/4 race printed on the end flap not all too long ago.I heard the 3/4 race can a few weeks ago from my gf's dad. I didn't know wtf he was talking about so I gave him the lift and duration specs lol.
" Gosh! Was it a purple cam!" another favorite....especially when the talk is about a Ford/Chevy car...lol.It was a common thing back in the 60's and probably in the 50's. Spider gears in a A727 tranny? I'm laughing here. I wore out a set of spider gears in a 8 3/4 rear end in a 76 Chrysler, but they didn't blow holes in the case.he blew out the spider gears in his 727 transmission and put a hole in the case
LOL! The 3/4 cam deal was long gone well before the Purple cam moniker came out!" Gosh! Was it a purple cam!" another favorite....especially when the talk is about a Ford/Chevy car...lol.
In the early 80's my first wife and I were at a fairly big show and was before very many could read the VIN...well, I didn't know what was what for engines etc. Anyways, were were looking at a Hemi powered Challenger and I'm talking fairly quiet to my wife and said "I'm not sure if it's an original Hemi or not" and all of a sudden, this guy behind me starts in on me and pretty loudly about it was and going kinda nuts about me saying anything. I started to tell him that I wasn't talking to anyone but my wife but just moved on rather briskly and making sure he wasn't gonna follow to continue his crap. After that I started doing some research on VIN numbers though lolCar shows are a blast, if only to listen to what others are saying to car owners... cracks me up.....it's the same at bike meets and watering holes. Everyone has owned a shovel head, a chopper, been a Hells Angel or ( Insert Name of MC)...lol.

In regards to the OP's "visitor":
It should never get that far to begin with... it's not that hard to take a moment and let them enjoy the view. Let 'em spew a little nonsense, that's fine.
It's Still better to humor them and get them on their way ASAP than it is to try and correct (or even confront) them.
Anything else takes time ("Hello, officer. Why yes, he DID fall down a lot!").
Oy. Some folks just never get grown in the noggin...
