I remember catching my first bass (small mouth) in upstate NY where I spend my summers. I was about his age too and remember the excitement.
I wasn't as gracious as this kid though. Mom cooked mine up for dinner that night !!!!!

Great thread. Living next to the ocean and spending time down the shore, I see many of all ages fishing.
My grandfather took me salt water fishing,crabing often during the summer months. Great memories and teaching patience.
I still have his Garcia reel he gave me.

I thought the little guy handled that baitcaster very well. You have to know what you're doing to fish with one of those.
