Valve covers needed BB, seal

Wow, appreciate the advice. As themechanic said, I care little about correct. Looking for a good seal the first time, and easy top ups. Wouldn’t mind seeing more orange when opening the hood though.

I'd go with the M/Ts and have Leann paint them up nice and orange with a contrasting black M/T or something. Especially, if he giving them to you, dirt and all.

Thanks everyone. I may have found some in my Mopar pals basement. I did order the gaskets that MarPar recommended.

Had a leak in mine on the GTX - difficult to detect. The guy I sold,it to discovered it. He had it in the shop for something else. It had new Mopar performance covers on it. The shop owner told him he would have never found it had he not taken them off and put on a level table. They rocked just a hair - thus the leak. He put them back on with a better gasket and I believe sealed them - life is good.

I have always had bad luck with steel valve covers. The stock ones are so warped by the time that I get to them and the aftermarket chrome steel ones don't seem to seal well despite being in good shape. I have had the best luck with cast aluminum ones. Although I like mine, The Mopar Performance ones are pretty common to see. Mine seal well.
I've seen some of the MP ones modified by milling off the ridges and painting them engine color.
The M/T, Edelbrock, Holley and other aluminum valve covers all seem to share the same improved sealing abilities. I just chose the MP ones back when I built my 2nd engine for my car.
