I build schools and houses. I do framework mostly. I'm good at it but I would not call myself a Craftsman. Guys that do cabinet work, interior trim work or decorative woodwork are more deserving of that title.
Guys that can bend metal to a desired shape and do impressive welds are Craftsmen.
People that can straighten a bent quarter panel and get it to look as if it were never damaged ? They qualify as well.

For what it's worth I admire what I see in your pictures. I can see and feel every step you went through.
Holding key dimension points in repete parts is another something that does not show up in pictures.

Very Impressive Dad..Im interested in certifications, inspections and design of those pieces. I assume you made a prototype and then a jig.

Jig is in the picture, designs I see in my head and as for certification I've been making them for decades now without an engine parting way on any of most of the worlds continents that I've shipped them to ..so I think I passed!

The thing I was getting at is who certifies these, who inspects them? They are impressive and well done im sure but I thought aviation requires this.
I was just wondering as even in my old line of work, testing, certifications, quality control and such all play a big part.

ME... they are for experimental / homebuilt aircraft. If I wouldn't fly behind it myself I'd go crawl under a rock and if that doesn't work everything I have is in my wife's name.. I just live here !

If I may-interject a bit about "certifying" welds -vs certifying welders. --They are NOT the same thing.

I have been -required- to pass many certification tests in lots of differing processes and metals just to be allowed to participate in welding projects.

"Certified" welders make uncertified welds --A FACT--and if the/a weld is bad or failed ---the "certification" of the welder IS NOT a bailout.
A "certification" is just an admission ticket to participate. (it helps cull wannabes)
