What is this half moon slot for? It's on the top of the cross bar support above the grill on my 67 Coronet.

On the Coronet this is the release. It's closer to the center.

I guess they both use the same support rail and it's punched for either.

I would guess it has to do with the hood trim being wider front to back underneath the leading edge?

Must be a Charger piece. This is on my 67 Coronet.

The Charger trim for the upper grille is also the hood lip trim. It's also about as wide as the 67 Coronet upper grille surround but sits above the cross support rail rather than attached to it.

I just couldn't figure out what was freaking missing. Turns out nothing is. lol.
