I know they ain't cheap! Started school in 1970....flight theory and meteorology when I was working construction for my dad. After asking him about time off for classes 2 freaking days a week and saying ok, he started gripping at me about falling behind. Well crap. Got my draft notice shortly after anyways. Been awhile since going up but it was the most fun being in a 1938 Stearman....

The market is way down compared to yesteryear when I use to get $130K for these, but it'll still be a $100K Cdn airplane when I push it back out the door. I paid too much for it, but it was a good candidate for some clean up and resale. Gotta do something to cover the bills..

Here's the view in "my office" today.
My office is actually at home, but I am doing medical equipment maintenance and repairs and this suction unit, in ENDOSCOPY (where they work on people's butts and lower intestines) is "my office" today. Unit has a check valve ball that is stuck. It's stuck in a combination of feces and surgically removed rectum/lower intestinal tissue.
You've been warned...

And the stuck check valve ball I have to manually "unstick":eek::eek::eek:

Well so far today I got lucky, or from my perspective, another blessing.
I had to come back today anyway, and maybe tomorrow, because this round of service on about 120 different pieces of equipment usually takes 2-3 days, and I like to work evenings and weekends because there aren't any cases, so no waiting to work on something.
Anyway I applied vacuum in the reverse direction of normal flow and the chamber now will suck liquid up again. I'm pulsing the flow to agitate the warm water that fills up, and that is literally knocking the $heet loose, which then goes down the drain. So I filled both chambers up with warm water and a little bleach, and I'm letting that soak for a couple of hours while I make my rounds.
If I drain it and if both sides are still working as designed, well I'll be like: "bunnies jumping, birds singing, blue skies, and deer-peeking happily from behind the trees"....

This thread is a great example of why we should all take our old cars on road trips and enjoy all the beautiful scenery around!

Yup. We do that in the spring and summer. It is a good feeling to get out and look at the nice locations. Nice scenery.
