Did anyone just see the 68 RT, red w/white top & interior go through for $38k???? Followed shortly by a 59 TBird for the same money!!!! Looked like a steal, certainly a better deal than a 59 bird

Referring to the 68 charger i assume..
If you were standing next to me watching it roll across the block you would have not even bid in the thirties. It was so rough that it was embarrassing. If that went to a phone bidder, there is going to be an angry person in about 10 days when the car gets in his driveway.

It appears at 10:17pm (central time) in Scottsdale Episode 3
I'm going to watch it go by and post back.

@Dr V Are you wearing something that a HDTV viewer could identify you with?

Paint looks a little faded in spots, front grille, bumper, trim, and vacuum operated headlight covers look very good. Interior looks beautiful. I didn't notice any rust or trim/gap issues. Top and rear package shelf looks good.
440 4bbl 4 speed but 8&3/4 rear axle.
$38k? Good price IMO

Was that lot 448? the final was $41,800. Wonder if that was the final price after B/J's cut

It looked solid. NO open hood!:soapbox:
I prefer Mecum auctions WAY WAY better than B-J auctions.
Mecum shows the engine and moves slower, with less commercials.
If I didn't DVR a B-J auction it would be unwatchable with 50% of the show being commercials!

Lot 469, 69 red charger just sold 27k. Hated the wheels, but thats easily changed. Maybe 10k under what i thought it would bring. 318 car, now with 440. Im used to seeing utter trash charger parts cars with 12-15k asking price.

A 69 Charger just crossed the block for 29000. Are prices down that much?

Either that , or the stuck-up high-dollar buyers don't want something with no pedigree, like a 318 car! Ughh
Plum crazy 70 challenger rt, with a 440, lot 470, sells 55k

my theory is the Mopar world is pretty small in the grand scheme, and buyers are few and far between. "We" as a group tend to over-value our cars...... the 427 impala was bad ***

Kinda depends on who and how many in the crowd too. Last night, near the end of the night, it looked like there was no more than twenty bidders in the whole place!

I, don't see 20% on every car to make a auction work. 10% buyers and sellers premium. Doesn't include entry fees or other sellers expenses.

That 69 Charger, red like the other one we posted about, but this one had red paint that absolutely looked liquid and beautiful! The 318 was yanked out and a 440 based 512 stroker:bananadance: (440 Source kit) was under the hood. "Hemi" torsion bars, and I'd tell y'all more, but Barrett-Jackson auctions and announcers SUCK for audiences! What rear axle? What transmission?
Regardless, WHAT A DEAL FOR THE BUYER!
Look! $27k!!

Sure works for the auction company!
In 2002, I sold my black Hemi 4-speed RR. One of 109. Barrett Jackson told me it would not net 50K, so I forgot about them. I made an ad on eBay, starting at 20K and put a reserve of 55K with no buy it now price. 10 minutes later it was at 45K. I responded to a message and managed to get the guy my phone number. He called 5 minutes later and asked what it would take to buy it. I told him to make a legitimate offer. He said he would go 78,500 and I said sold. The next year that guy resold it at Barrett Jackson and it brought 134,500. The 50K is what I had in it and was looking to get my money back to finish my Superbird. I made good money and so did my buyer. All I can say is what a difference a year makes. Also this guy had a name and he sold it "From His Personal Collection".
