Sorry to report....
I received an email from a club representative that our annual "Day in the Park" has been cancelled.
The email stated that our regular meetings and the show were cancelled. With the limited explanation, I assumed that it was all because of the restrictions on place because of the virus. I was pissed because the show is almost 2 1/2 months away. The date of the show was June 26th.
A follow up email went out to further explain that the main reason for the cancellation was that the School district that governs the reservations of the park GAVE AWAY the June 26th date out from under us, We used to reserve the date via email or phone calls but they have implemented a new policy where an applicant needs to fill out a 27 page document and obtain a permit to sell food. The park also now wants to base their usage fees based on attendance numbers of spectators, a number that is almost impossible to determine.
In short, we were mistreated and manipulated as a club.
Our club officers are considering a show later in the year, maybe August or September. I will surely notify this forum if/when a date is chosen.
Sorry for the bad news. I am probably as disappointed as many others.

I'm sure it won't be the only one the way everything else is getting canxed! I'm sure Hot August will get the ax this year.

Indy 500 moved to August.

Detroit International Auto Show cancelled until next year.
The venue is being turned into a 1000 bed hospital, since the local ones are almost at capacity....

Many local swap meets have been cancelled.
Schools out till next September.

Trying to lessen these numbers:
479 deaths, 12,744 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan as of 4-3-20.

Honestly moving the Capitol City show to later in the year isn't that bad, for whatever reason Hagan Park is always hot & doesn't seem to get much air movement.. Move it toward October.... When hopefully things will have cooled off some...

Hey Greg that's a bummer. I was looking forward to redeeming myself this year. August in Sac is brutally hot; later in September would be a good time if you can secure a spot.

Many club members have wished for an earlier or later date. A couple of the founding members are as stubborn as can be and steadfastly stick to June as the month for the show.

So far HAN is still on. Would not hurt my feelings to whittle the attendance down a bit. Went from 3k to 5k to no limit registered cars. Still a good show but getting a little hairy. Will go anyway.

I'm thinking with all of the cancellations of shows that IF this cluster **** ever gets over the September Mopar Madness event at Sac Raceway will be well attended. Have the show there??????

I was thinking something similar. Maybe not an official CCM event but that this show may benefit from pent up demand...sort of like the only girls at the bar when a ship comes into port. Even the UGLY chicks get free drinks then, right?

If you want anyone to ever show up at Sacramento Raceway again get rid of the idiots at the gate.... We sat in line for over an hour & if I hadn't jumped out of the line they put me in to the line that was moving I probably would have been stuck there for another 20-30 minutes... The girl who was in line behind me didn't get inside for a good 20 minutes after I did.. I'll never go to that show again...

I'd kinda hoped to take a pass or two down the track but by the time I got inside I had zero interest in sitting in another line for tech inspection...

But then again I've always preferred to take a group of cars for a drive... Couple hundred miles of mountain driving is way more enjoyable than sitting around a car show....

Name the time and place to meet up and I will show up for that drive if I am in town!

The raceway has long been run by a family that operates as if they don't care if they make money or not.

Rancho Cambodia is tentative this year per the Newsletter. 2021.

There beginning to open here, Ct. Some are drive by shows. You park your car spectators drive by, won't go to those.

A drive by? What the heck? That is worthless.
