I am in the relatively early stages of building my 70 RR, this car has a tilt front end, snout bars, etc. and was heavily modified at some point (before I got it). I am going to put a 66 426 Hemi into this car, will be running a CA front end (I am making) and the objective of the car is really more of a cool late 70's ex race car motif. I am not going to race the car, but will drive it on the street. The car will have a 4 speed and a electric Air Grabber along with the tilt front end.
Anyway, I am currently thinking about the headers and which way to go. I have looked at pretty much everything out there to include TTI's, Hooker Super Comps, manifolds, Sandersen DD6 shorties, etc. I have also looked at some builder kits, one of which is fender well kit.
What I want is something that meets the design of the car and looks like it should be there, but whatever I do it has to be either stainless or ceramic coated because here in WA state they will rust immediately. I have some old coated headers but they are so thin and beat up I don't think I can use them.
So, I am looking for opinions, thoughts, etc. on this situation. I am not super excited about spending $1000+ on a set of headers but as most know, Hemi+inexpensive are not words that ever are spoken together. Here is a picture of what I am working with.
