I figure this might be the case. Makes too much sense to have the same part fit two model years! Oh well.

They changed to the collapsible column in 67 and it was wider at that point. Also the dash is not the same between 66 and 67.

They changed to the collapsible column in 67 and it was wider at that point. Also the dash is not the same between 66 and 67.
