whats up with paypal?

You should have never even opened it. When something looks suspicious, delete it immediately. Opening it can complete the link to your email account and other emails.
I didnt open anything. I logged on to check to see if money was sent for a part.

Why do they need my ss number? It wont send me a check it did before. Did they change there terms? They want to link to my account. I hate giving up my info just thought I asked to see what you guys had to say.
Scam

I have never had a problem with PP. I've been using them for just over 10 years now and have used them hundreds of times.

Just the governments way of tracking down unclaimed taxable income. Lots of people selling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stuff on Ebay, taking Paypal as payment and not claiming the income. I can't believe you're pulling money out of Paypal, I sell stuff and then buy stuff with funds from my account and generally ++ money transfered to Paypal from my bank account. There's never any left over to take out! :nutkick:

Never taken money out of P/P there's always something to buy. Yesterday $100 to Mike's Carburetor for parts.

Im waiting for the right car at the right price to come along. Ive got all my funds since 2004 in there. Its actually a good time to cash in. The canadian buck sucks and the US is not bad.

I'm trying to decipher PP's fees btw them and eBay fees. Used them for years and the math isn't computing like it used to. Btw their charges, mine as well give up selling stuff as costs could be more than what I sell da chit for. Anyway, I have to sift through the last few statements to hopefully get a clue.

If you use your mouse to hover over the addressee on your email, the actual email account of the sender will show. Like has been said, if something looks fishy, delete it and contact PayPal to check your account.

EVERY communication from Paypal will address you by name, not by "Dear Client / Customer," by your email address, etc. All others are frauds or phishing scams and should be forwarded to spoof@paypal.com. It's my understanding they actually track down and prosecute scammers.
I got one today. It was a "security notice" and did not address me by name and wanted me to click on a "Login" button to "restore my account". Yeah right.
It also had this above the very authentic looking PayPal heading.

PayPal will not accept payment for firearms or ammunition.
I won't use them.

Same here - there's usually a deficit here in that spending plan, in fact. :)
