Hi All,

Sorry if this one’s been covered before, I really did dig through the forum posts before asking!

I’m going to the junkyard not far from me, they recently got a 69 Coronet 4 door in. The car still has the main parts I’m looking for (trunk hardware) but in case I get lucky and it still has interior parts I’d like to know if I can use a ‘69 4 door’s rear seat in my ‘68 2 door. I understand the years are very similar and am more concerned about the differences in the chassis.

I know that 64/65 2 door and 4 door bottoms are different. The two door bottom is squared off at the ends, and the four door bottoms are rounded on the front at the ends. I assume the later 68/69 might be the same?

Short answer is no. The contours of the rear seat on the ends at the doors is curved on the bottom part and flatter on the top part. I have seen the top part used with a difference in padding, but the bottom would have too be modified all the way into the springs.

66-70 rear seat bottoms in 2 door B bodies will interchange for the most part. Also the seat backs or top will interchange also with the exception of the 66-67, Satellites and GTX'S.

Just to clarify, would a 66-67 Belvedere II, 2door rear seat backrest, fit his '68 Coronet?

Yes. Just not this

back will work

bottom will fit but is different on corners as stated above

Thanks guys! It would have been convenient if they fit but I didn’t want to guess and be stuck with the wrong seats. I’ll settle for two buckets up front and revisit this once I have it on the road.

If the money is right or if they will separate, I'd snag the back.

You never know when you might find a decent bottom all alone.

Naturally the monkeys working the scrap yard managed to set the upper seat frame on fire while cutting the hinges out with a torch... I passed.
