Looking to put some 17” wheels on my bee and I was curious if anyone had any pictures or info on what tires and backspacing they’re running for their 68-70 B-bodies. I found this thread in the wheels and tires section http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/b-bodies-with-17-wheels-post-your-photos.50869/

But hoping I can stir up some more info over here. Currently leaning towards 17x8 fronts and 17x9 rears with nitto Nt450 275/50/17 rear and 225/50/17 fronts. Unfortunately Nitto is the only manufacturer I’ve found to make a tire for 17s with a decent amount of side wall. I’ve attached a few pics of different cars I’ve found online to be running 17s or 18s.

Yes we do...
I like the look but I also concur with those that do not like the look of the razor thin sidewalls often seen with the large diameter wheels.

@Kern Dog @747mopar i know they got 17’s 18’s on their rides
18s and 19s on mine. I get that most don't like the look of the short sidewall but holy cow does it transform the handling characteristics of the car. I cruise many country roads that have lots of turns and I rarely slow down for a corner, it's planted with none of that wishy washy feeling and still feels planted at 120mph .

On mine I have 10" wide rims out back and 8" up front both with zero offset or 5" backspacing in the rear and 4" in the front. Fronts are slightly inside the fenders with zero rub issues and the rear are very well centered in the wells.

I think it depends on the body as well. For some reason chargers just seem to look cleaner than the other B bodies with big wheels. I really like the look of the Ring Bros charger running the oversized black steel wheels. Subtle and an overal clean look.

315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ Drag radials on the back. Everything else is stock. ZERO rubbing. Classic Industries aluminum Rallye wheels:
