NOS 66-67 Belvedere & 67 Satellite gas cap, box is not original box.

How you see it is the way I received it after purchasing it from Tony’s Mopar parts, it was advertised as 67 NOS gas cap. I believe this gas cap is an original NOS wood grain station wagon gas cap that has had the woodgrain stripped off and primed. These woodgrain gas caps will fit the the 66-67 Belvederes and Satellites.

I bought a wood grain cap and it does not fit a 66-67 B-body, the tangs are too shallow to catch the neck. It is unusable on the car.

This can be recognized by the silver metal strip that the screws are going through, a real cap doesn’t have that silver strip.

have you tried this on a 66-67 car to see if it fits?

Yes, I tried this cap on my 67 Belvedere and it fits.

To follow up I know the cap that you are talking about because I bought one of those as well and found out as you did that it did not work. So there is two woodgrain caps out there one that will work and one that doesn't.
