10 years ago my older brother turned 50. For his birthday I restored hid childhood minibike. All I started with was the frame. 2 yeas of parts hunting and buying 3 bikes to get enough pats to finish it I had it done in time for his birthday. Fast forward 9 years and 11 months. He called me last night to tell me that some *** bag broke into his storage shed and stole it.
My brother is tore up. My wife mentioned the cost of restoration, thats not the loss its the sentimental value.
I hope we can get it back, his grandson is just getting old enough to ride it. I do hope the police find it and not my brother, he has a pretty short fuse and is not afraid to teach some one a lesson the old fashion way.
I am pissed, I do have all of my minibike contacts looking and I might not be above handing out a little *** kicking if I find it.

Thieves are not worth the powder it takes to blow them away.

sorry to hear that I've been there too.

That sucks. I worry about that for my Road Runner and my 62 Corvette, as both have deep family ties that cannot be replaced. If someone steals my Ram truck I'll be pissed, but it could be replaced by another truck and I wouldn't really care. However, the Road Runner and the Vette are irreplaceable from the family perspective.

I truly hope you find the minibike and get it back - you can't put a price on the family value that it has.

What a loss. Just know that your gift was enjoyed for 9 years.....that is forever.

I know, I had to take my Dakota in for unexpected repair...and ****...I forgot my dad's old watch I had in the console as I was going to buy a new band for it and give it to my nephew who cherished his departed grampa. My mother had given it to my dad as a gift; inscribed on the back 'To Dick from Betty December 1953'. Friggin classy watch, a gold Franklin Longines. I put out a 1000 reward although its vintage value was maybe half that, posted an ad in the paper, called every friggin pawn shop within a 100 miles. Yeah - ******* worst thing when it has sentimental value!

"a pretty short fuse and is not afraid to teach some one a lesson the old fashion way."

This I believe to be lacking in todays society, some old fashioned knot on the head kinda love ….

I ******* hate thieves. some douchebag recently broke into my shed a jacked a brand new set of torque thrust wheels and tires, along with a full set of centerline's and tires. we won't even get into the tunnel ram/ carbs and tubs of parts. cops don't give a flying **** . street justice, lemme catch him

One of the reasons we got a big dog with phenomenal hearing and a penchant for barking. That dog can hear a mouse fart a mile away during a downpour while dead asleep.

Always makes me wonder that some thieves get some second hand intel by somebody mentioning things like " yeah I know a guy who has cool stuff right down the block"

that totally sucks :BangHead:

best of luck finding it,
for your sake & your bothers too
(police today a little preoccupied)

Insurance ?
maybe homeowners insurance will cover it ?

it's not the best, probably a drop in the bucket as far as worth
especially all the sentimental value, maybe build/buy another

good luck
