Any idea what the "6" means under the S on the 2nd line down from the top?

Wild stab in the dark here - either a Luxury steering wheel, or the heavy duty front sway bar.

Sorry I can't be more precise. :)

Yea that is weird for sure! Mine has a "1" which is for air conditioning I thought but never have seen a "6" there. I thought it was either a "1" for air or blank for no air.......maybe a typo?

was there a heavy duty AC option?

...or super rare rear air?

My list of 68 fender tag layouts and options kinda sucks as there isn't much info on them compiled in one area that I have found. I wish I could find one area that laid out the info just like 69 and up guys have to use.

If you have a Build Sheet it says (Air Cond-Heat or Delete) in the Block. 1 is for AC, 3 is Autotemp Air Conditioning. I believe your cars AC was deleted. The decoder states Unknown for 6.

A/C was optional and never standard. Meaning, it couldn’t be deleted. (Same thing with radios)

Only standard items that could also be removed, such a stripe or, in some years, heaters, can be deleted.

code 416 = heater delete.
