California wildfires are making a relative of mine nervous. If the power goes out, the well at the house won't be able to pump any water at all. We are looking for a water tank on wheels with a small gasoline powered pump for home fire defense. What is out there? Thank you?

I have a gas generator big enough to run the well pump. Probably cheaper than a mobile tank and pump, and unlimited water supply.

Lookl for military auctions or government sale ,for military water buffalo's, bought a few in the past you can modify them for your needs ,they slso have trucks with water tanks ,its worth a try

With 34 years in the fire service, I can attest that 250 gallons does not go very far. Some of the other suggestions would give you lasting gallonage that you would likely need. Good luck and stay safe.

Up here I'd tell you to collect all the thrown away 250 gallon furnace oil tanks and put them on a trailer, plumbing all their outlets together with valves. Not sure what you have down there. Insurance Co's and mandatory tank replacement have made oil tanks worthless..

..on second thought.. if you're gonna run a gas powered pump... as noted above just a generator to run the well and 4 or 5 rainbird sprinkles or if it's a shallow hand dug style a gas powered pump with the inlet hose just tossed into the well.

Just tell them to empty the garage out and it will most definitely rain! Does it to me all the time!
But seriously a generator to run well !
Or around here old water tankers are everywhere buy one fill up at lake and blast water where needed

I found one here locally for $2500 old deuce and a half with a tank on it and jets on corners of truck!
I was looking back when FL was on fire by my house
