Cleaning rubber window seals

The rubber window seals my car are either really dirty and or oxidized. Washing dosn't seem to help. What do you guy's use to restore and protect rubber seals ?

Lacquer thinner will clean them good. (Don't spill or drip any on the paint) Then a rubber restorer or silicon spray.

Thanks Guy's l think I'll try some paint thinner, then vaseline to see how that works. I'm too chicken to try the lacquer thinner.

I use the creamy hand cleaner with lanolin. Not the gritty stuff. The lanolin soaks in and softens the rubber while the hand cleaner cleans up the graying. I gob it on and let it soak in. Then take a tooth brush and scrub it. I learned this trick many years ago when my 60 Dart needed a new windshield. The gasket was hard and brittle but after a few treatments with the hand cleaner, it came back to life. IMO lacquer thinner would dry the rubber out more. I use Whisk hand cleaner but Go-Jo has the lanolin too.

I've used 100% Simple Green before with good results. That was off the car, soaked in a bucket.

"creamy hand cleaner with lanolin" sounds good without being too messy. Thanks for all the replies guy's.
