Hey everyone.

New member here. I did some quick searching through the forums but wanted to ask about this hood I have... I was told it's an original and it appears to be old enough, has the greenish resin and is a little rough underneath. Also, it doesn't fit all that well... From what I understand, those are all criteria for an original, but I thought I'd throw it out to see what you all think.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an original 69 a12 hood on the GTX. It looks very similar except the rise down the center in front of the scoop. Mine has a different configuration. Looks like you have a very nice piece there tho. If you want absolute confirmation you could post it on the a12 forum here on FBBO. Those guys live and breath that’s stuff.

I was googling and the 1969 1/2 Dodge Super Bee hood is slightly different than the Plymouth Roadrunner. The hood he has is a Super Bee hood and GetX'd is well, a Plymouth hood.

Cool thanks. I'm pretty sure it's the real deal, but i'll check with those guys... On a side note your GTX is freaking amazing.

Looks original to me. Green and rough underneath are good indicators. Not sure about the fitment comment however; mine fits pretty well to be a 51 year old fiberglass hood...

Ya maybe just got my hands on a rough one... here it is on the car. I can probably do a few adjustments to get it to fit a little better. That corner near the driver side windshield is funky.

The hood looks original to me. As for the fit, what you have in the picture above is very common with the Dodge hoods. Back center and sides have sagged over time with the rear corners raising up.

A good fiberglass guy will get it to fit by reshaping it to the proper contours. I takes time, effort, and most of all talent to get it right.

Good looking Bee. How about some more pictures?
