Free ATM access, then the fees. A nice selection of four denominations ($500, $200, $100, and $50 Mexican Pesos) but recently diminished to only dispensing the largest denomination ($500 Mexican Pesos).

So today in order to purchase a liter of milk at the Mom & Pop store across the street, I need to present a $500 peso bill for a $20 peso item.

There is also a $20 peso bill, but according to the news the plan is to eliminate it and replace it with a $20 peso coin (Susan B. Anthony tactic?).

Wow, that sucks. Most of the trips we take around Mazatlan usually run 100 to 150 pesos, at the most. I generally have a bunch of hundreds and twenties because I hate using a big bill for small purchases.
But what really holes my doughnut is this: they encourage us to use the card. I’m ok with that. But when I do need a human teller I have to wait in line forever because they cut staff, and because I so seldom need to see a teller nobody knows me. So I get regarded with suspicion and indifference. Frequently they check my signature, looking at me warily while a group of them huddle, discussing whether or not they need to call security.

Capital One sent me a letter last month saying that they are reducing my credit limit from 12.5K down to 5K without my consent or approval. Seems they did this to lots of other people too, needless to say I and everyone else has told them to get bent and closed their accounts.

If you're really old, it's a MAC card.
Last time I had a card so I could get funds out of the Bank of Montreal.. to go across the corner to the beer store.. was 1982. Haven't had a bank ATM card since... I like keeping people employed !

Have never cared for Cap1....but have a fairly new Amazon Cap1 card that I ended up getting a 50 dollar gift card for getting it. Haven't used it yet but used that gift card.

Almost that long for me to use an ATM. Hardly ever used an ATM but one weekend in 86 I found a parts car for 300 bucks and only had 50 in my pocket and being Sunday, no banks were open so ATM it was. Dang thing gave me 250 bucks in 5's!! That was my last time to use one. Always had some cash on hand for stuff like this but for some reason, not this time but that was the last time.

Living overseas with a USA account makes the ATM indispensable here. A couple of years ago, Bank of America had an agreement with Santander and withdrawals were free. Now it's $5.00 USD per transaction, so I take out the maximum each time.

I'm seeing where US Bank is closing locations across the country and have properties up for sale.
I like my credit union.

Local Chase just closed. Hear that it is going to become another Starbucks coffee shop (as if we need another Starbucks......)

Damn... So, I won't get a free clock radio, or a folding step-stool for opening up a new account ????? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN THIS WORLD ??!!??

Wife works for a Credit Union and is being swamped with new customers that are leaving banks.

I go to a credit union and have never used an ATM in my life. Two credit cards and a few bucks in my pocket.

I don't even know what a credit union is....don't think we have them here! High street banks are closing all over here.....three closed in the small town near my work in the last 24 months....leaving no bank at all! Not surprising as most (like me) do everything they need online. Even if you do go to the bank, machines do all the work with just one person helping the technophobes!!...you can pay in cheques, cash etc with no human contact!!! I don't use or own a credit card....if I don't have the cash in my account to buy it...then I cant afford it and will have to wait until I can!! I don't use much actual cash....although ATMs are in many shops and filling stations....cant see the point when everywhere accepts debit cards....The folks who are objecting most to the UK becoming ever more cashless are the same folks that work for cash and don't pay there fair share of taxes....so **** em! As for those that worry about big companies knowing every card transaction and where I am and what im buying due to card use....well they must have a more exciting life than mine. No one would care about what I get up to!....again its the same dishonest crowd that moan about the same things over and over....too many security cameras, cashless society, automatic car number plate recognition, face recognition software in town centres, tracking your position with the covid app (which I use BTW).....if they were decent honest folks they would not care. Strangely they are the same folks who want access to the same camera footage when someone get attacked or there car gets vandalised!!! LOL. RANT OVER!!

A credit card is protection on purchases made and using someone else money till the end of the month when I write one check to pay it off is only smart business.
