Slowly (but surely) Banks Eliminate the Perks They Offer

A credit card is protection on purchases made and using someone else money till the end of the month when I write one check to pay it off is only smart business.
....true....but only on purchases over £100....at least that's how it is here. Yours is the sensible way to use a CC. Unfortunately many do not have your self control and end loading their cards that they cannot payoff....often ending up just paying the interest each month but never clearing the debt....just about the most expensive way to borrow money there is!

Hmm....I haven't had a credit card in a looking time.
Got a debit card and use it but if the money isn't in my account, I can't spend it.
Went to the credit union to deposit a check. Signed it and gave it to the teller along with the deposit slip.
The teller looked at it and asked me if I still worked at Monsanto (credit union used to be Monsanto employee credit union before they spun it off IIRC in the 80s).
I axed why and she said My account # was that low.
I joined when they spun it off.
I'll never go back to a bank!

I go to a credit union and have never used an ATM in my life. Two credit cards and a few bucks in my pocket.

Same here, but I have one personal card and three business cards. I keep enough cash on hand to buy what I want when I need to, or when I feel impulsive.

Perks? LOL wont be long they will be charging you for the privilege of keeping your money for you.

I found it funny claiming a few dollars interest on income tax return when the very first bank fee debited from my account (returned nsf check, etc.) blows away any yearly interest earned/paid right off the bat.

Well Fargo already does that when a commercial account deposits cash they have to count.

Yep....my business has to pay to deposit cash (banks are trying to discourage it).....not that we see much actual cash these days. We advice customers to pay for RVs with either a bank transfer or debit card. Of course its illegal for any business to take much more than about £9000 in cash from any individual anyway under recent anti money laundering and tax avoidance laws.

That is a different issue, this is just for the small business that deals in small cash amounts....Wells provides change, quarters, 10s and the like, that you must have, so they charge a fee for that service. I said it is funny how it is only on the cash and not the credit cards and found a new bank. Fraud reporting is anything over $9999 over a short period they say, all banks do that.

I have received two full bundles of 20 dollar bills, a true full bundle is $20,000 in cash. It's then separated into 10 straps of cash consisting of 100 bills in each. I asked the teller at my credit union if there was a problem, he said no, I heard no more about it. The $9999 is true and I also believe it's none of their business. Before they screw with me, I think they need to ask Hillary and Bill what they did with the millions from their supposed charity. The government wants their cut of everything, so check, there was obviously record of my transaction.
