Students build 1968 Dodge Coronet "Super BEE"!

That’s great ! I’m very glad to hear students still have the interest and drive to work on these cars... they will never build them like this again..! What are your plans for the driveline and what was the cars previous back story we also like pictures here! Curious to see what it started out as ! EXCELLENT job! If you think about how these cars started out as: idea, put it on paper, then to clay then to prototype then to production it’s an amazing thought how computers were not a big factor and how ingenious the guys and gals were that designed them.. I see so much potential here it’s awesome, my kids schools don’t offer any shop related classes... plenty of sports.. you gotta catch the folks that doodle all the time and focus them then let it flow, start them young and naturally... sorry for rambling but you don’t see much unless a laptop is connected to it.

The kids voted for a ~480 HP set up with a 440 big block. Aluminum Heads and TTI headers. She will be aggressive but street savvy. We have a 8 3/4 rear end but question its condition as you spin one side and the pinion doesn't move. They don't want a one wheel peal set up. So we will be researching different avenue on that aspect.

Give summit racing a jingle and see if they can help.. especially on a project like this

I've ordered a few things from them. Be honest i've ordered all over. I've spent a pretty penny so far...

neat thing is I have a 383 short block built ready to go! So looking for a project car for that to go into.

Next years build is a 1961 F100 and we already have that vehicle.

Would be AMAZING to find a superbird.....

Welcome to the site and cool beans! Well lets see....an already built 383 and a 61 F100. Had a 62 Unibody Ford pickup for awhile in the mid 70's when I was into Fords a bit. Straight axle gasser pickup with stacks sticking out of the hood? I can see that one :D

welcome to FBBO
nice appearing 68

This is a great idea and I am glad you are teaching the younger generations about these old cars. Where does all the money come from for parts and materials. As we all know, Mopars are about the most expensive car to restore. I know in our small school district it would be a huge challenge finding the funds to properly build a car.

This was a 20 year process I took over this year. The funds come from the ticket sales to raffle the car off at the end of the year. We do ask for sponsors and if some contribute we also put their names on our team shirts.
