looking at getting a main girdle how important and do I need one on a RB engine
im shooting for about 700 to 1000 hp in a 64 b body 4 speed strip use only
I totally agree with you and others what they have told me ( that's why my 70 duster is a auto 10 sec 1/4 mile ) 700hp + might be pie in the sky wishes the car is is going to be exhibition and fun straight axel injected big block stick more for the antique drags not bracket even 18 spline 833,s are crazy high pricesRight there is the tried, true and proven recipe for spending money to go slow and break lotsa parts
as mentioned
about 700hp is at the ragged edge of factory 440 block durability, girdles are band-aids much past 700 hp
and
833-spd's although a tough trans, just end up breaking increasing driveline incidence of repairs $$ with slower ET's for 95% of drivers than a well-prepped Auto/High Stall setup.
You ever attempting shifting a 833 behind 800-900-1000hp ?
The SS A/Stick stuff is pretty trick and $$ spendy.... so unless that's where you wanna go ?
you may be well advised to reconsider opting for the consistency and faster ET's the Auto/Converter setup will offer you when Bracket Racing ?
sorry don't have any at the moment ill get somePictures of your Duster?
