USS Arizona survivor, Louis Conter salutes the remembrance wall at the USS Arizona Memorial during a service on the anniversary of the attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl harbor.
1 0f 3 living ....

If you have never visited the State of Hawaii and been to the Memorial and the Museum, then definitely put it on your Bucket List. Very moving experience. The boat ride over from the base side to the Memorial is a very solemn and makes you pause to reflect on that day. Sadly in today's World, so many of the youth of today haven't an inclining as to the Day of Infamy. And the Arizona still bleeds to this day as a reminder to all those lost their lives that cry out to those of us that choose to remember. Never Forget...cr8crshr/Bill:praying::praying::praying::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I had a friend (now deceased) that was at that base. That made it to their submarine and went down. They got under the Japanese air craft carrier and followed them all the way to the Japan harbor and then torpedoed the ship. I didn't quite believe the story but found out later it was true and in the history books. Thinking about you Mr. Morris Nesmith a friend and hero. RIP

God Bless all the WWII heroes.... May their spirit live on in the backbone of this country forever

Flags half staff today. Most of our guys in their 20’s. Geez. Still hurts.

All six of Japan's first-line aircraft carriers, Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, Hiryu, Shokaku and Zuikaku. The first four were sunk in June 1942 in The Battle of Midway. Zuikaku was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in Oct 1944 by US Navy aircraft, leaving Shokaku was sunk during The Battle of The Philippine Sea in June 1944 by the US Navy sub USS Cavalla. So while it was sunk by a US sub, it happened at a later date. Brave men, especially the submariners.

This gentleman, my uncle, was on the Nevada when the Japs attacked. He was on deck for church services which probably saved his life. He never talked about any of it to me or my mom. Although he did show me shrapnel from the bombs he picked up off the deck after the attack.

He had told his oldest daughter once that he and the other survivors were tasked with body and body part recovery aboard the ship. I understand why he never talked about it.

Fair winds and following seas Uncle Barney!

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim December 7, 2019, as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. I encourage all Americans to observe this solemn day of remembrance and to honor our military, past and present, with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I urge all Federal agencies and interested organizations, groups, and individuals to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff in honor of those American patriots who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this sixth day of December, in the year of our Lord two thousand nineteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fourth.

DONALD J. TRUMP

I've been there a few times, a very sombering place. My dad was a korean war veteran, I remember growing up knowing world war II and world war I veterans. I have a great amount of respect for these men, It sickens me what the country has become today, We are definately going down the wrong path, may God help america, and may God bless these hero's. I will never forget.

Thought I’d share these from my trip two years ago with extended family.
The visitors center was closed for upkeep. I had the privilege of meeting a sailor from the incident he was on another ship.. Everett.. I can’t recall his name, he passed after we met. He signed/ stamped a book I bought for my dad regarding Pearl Harbor. Foreigners don’t pay it much respect while I was there the hostess has to tell the Asians to shut up while she was giving her speech they were very disrespectful.
