Leslie West won't be down

That’s too bad! May he Rest In Peace!

RIP Leslie

I was just going to post this. RIP Leslie.

"More cowbell."
Meaning no disrespect, but he used to be called the The Great Fatsby.
And he was.
I saw him just once.
Not as popular as he should have been.
Great guitarist.

No way! I was only watching Mountain yesterday on YouTube. Don't Look Around on some German music show. I got into them after hearing Mississippi Queen on Vanishing Point. Great band, huge energy. RIP

R.I.P.

Mountain was a band I never had the pleasure to see live.

Oh man, another one. I liked him Mountain. I also have him singing Mississippi Queen live when he was on stage with Bachman Turner Overdrive, and a couple of his solo albums.

Still have my original Climbing! LP. It will get played tomorrow :(

Leslie West came to my little tiny rural town to play at a summer beerfest. Stood 20' from him while he played the piss out of "Mississippi Queen". Always liked Mountain too. Another icon has a lunch date with Jesus.
RIP Leslie, show 'em how it's done!

Mississippi Queen and Nantucket Slieghride are both on my spotify play list. Great music what a shame.

I had the opportunity back in the late '90s to interview Leslie for a documentary film I was producing - Creating Woodstock. He had lost a lot a weight because of his diabetes. We talked on camera for about 90 minutes about his career and specifically his performance at Woodstock. He was kind, generous with his time and quite charming. And very funny. We met a few times after and talked music and his health. I will miss him.
