You're all over the map. Ever since you joined, you've gone from a Road Runner to a Barracuda, to 70, 71 & 72 Challengers and now to a GTO. Every one of your posts here are asking for help with cars you're interested in at the moment, but never buy.

Its got a chev motor in it Thats not right......might as well put a mopar motor in it

what can i say like a variety of style my many ones r cuda challengers, roadrunner and well gto i think i once posted uup a think once i posted up a faceback.

dang didnt even notice the chevy motor. he wants 11 k. the guy needs to sale so i was trying to get it checked out

Even with the sacrilege of a Chevy transplant :poke:
in an iconic GTO :screwy: , if not too rusty or beat to ****,
that's not a bad price
you can always get an engine/trans combo (rear ?)
Pontiac stuff ain't cheap anymore either,
neither are the better Pontiac engines or transmissions

(65 is my favorite)

I see way too many with LS swaps, it's the trendy thing to do
hopefully not going down that rabbit hole

good luck if you decide to get it

sorry I can't help ya with the inspection I'm out west too
:popcorn2:

Reminds me of that guy that had to have a 70 RoadRunner.

I owned two GTO’s
64 tri power convert 4 speed
A mint 69
My dad loved the 69
He would sneak out in it on early Sunday mournings to get buns and the paper

The 64 I believe was the car they named the song after
I’d love to get a 65, maybe someday
My buddy had a deep blue tri power 65
Car was gorgeous

You need to see documentation the car is in fact a real GTO
A correct engine might be expensive
If your heart is set on a goat and the body and frame are rust free and it’s a real GTO the price might not be bad
But that’s a lot of “ifs”
Be well advised to do that car right like most projects ain’t cheap

go to American torque . com they have some games on identifying engines and cars I found it pretty fun

I believe It's a Chevy. Chevy engines are a dime a dozen. If you can't even put a Pontiac engine in a GTO forget it!! I've used 383 SBC's several times. with dart blocks. They get the job done, but not in a legendary GTO. That's just wrong.

I've never owned a GM product and don't intend to start anytime soon, that's why I asked.

Not as easy to find a poncho motor as it used to be.....
