What shape key 69 RR ignition

I’m curious as to which key was used with the 69 Road Runner and other B bodies for that year. The square or pentastar shape?

My 68 Charger originally came with a square key. I have seen 69’s with both, the square and pentastar shaped keys. And I know in 70 they went strictly with the pentastar key for the then new column ignition/steering lock setup.

I know either will work with 69 and down, I just would like to know what the factory shipped the ‘69s with.

I forgot about my old 69 4-door Fury. It had a square key as well. The 69 Fury III that I have now came with no keys. Some day I hope to get it restored, but it’s 3rd in line for now. It’ll be a long while... ;)

I've owned two 68 and one 69 and the ignition was pentastar on all three.

I have the original keys for both my GTXs - The '68 came with a square, the '69 with a pentastar. The '68 was an early built car, the '69 an end of year.

The two 69 roadrunners I have owned both had pentastar ignition keys.

I still have the keys to our old '69 Fury II and they're Pentastar ignition, round trunk.
