Hot Rod Winnebago

Without watching the video the spark can only jump to one electrode at a time.
You cannae change the laws of physics!

I did get one thing out of that. I need a Ryobi generator!

Fuel injected, overhead valve, electric start. Looks like a dandy.

I have that generator! Let me tell you it's freaking amazing! We bought it one hurricane season! It out performs the older ones I had hands down my father in-law went out after we used mine and bought one too it's a great generator!

E-3 did pretty well
comparable & cheaper than the Pulsar too

for shits & giggles, I had a coupon for 50%
I put them in my 99 Dakota SLT 4x4 5.2ltr Magnum
with a bunch of bolt-ons
AER swirl spacer & Airbox with a cone style gauze filter
1.7:1 HS Roller Rockers
& a Hypoertech tuner
3" Flowmaster Delta-50 cat-back single exhaust
32"x11.5" tires (org. had 10.5"x31.5") 1st 19,000 miles GY's
the truck just turned over 60,000 mile
I was getting pretty consistent 13-15mpg, new platinum NGK's
(when I 1st got it, stock/OE barely 14 at best & 12 was more
the norm/averages, maybe 16-17 hwy longer road trips)
the bolt-ons added another min. +1.5mpg averages over stock configuration
& a bunch more useable power/tq
even when new, even after the tire change,
all around milage here in the sticks, not much flat ground
lots of grades & curves on & off the throttle
most of my driving is to the same places regularly too

not much if any real freeway or open flat hwy miles
(we don't have any freeways for about 75-100 miles
depending on what route you go)
it's now been getting 14-17mpg average driving
I really only let it get to about a 1/4 tank & refill
over about 8 refills
2100+ miles/135+ gal. 89 oct/ med. grade swill = 15.55 mph

I haven't done any longer road trips to see
what the freeway open hwy mileage is, "YET"
it was like 19-20-ish strickly hwy flat like I-5, after bolt-ons

I'll be curious to see if it improves
on the additional +1.55mpg average
over the NGK's & bolt-ons

How pricey are they?

What's the model of that gen or did I miss it in the vid? 7000 watt rig with 8750 surge? And me too on the price range.....

I'll go look . Mine might be smaller it looks the same I think mine is a 5500 I payed about $460 for mine !

That's really reasonable! Is it fairly quiet? Also where did you get it.

Funny I had a 98 Dakota club cab 4x4 5.2 auto but it had smaller oem tires 245/70/15 I think. It got 16-18 around town and up to 20-21 on the highway. May I loved that truck, put 285K on it before I retired it. All I did was put a K&N filter in it.

E3 are junk, tip some how broke off in my chainsaw trashed the piston and the jug. Multiple reports of this on the net aswell. They basically told me to pound sand when I called them on it.

I live in the mountains, there's nothing flat or very straight up here
pretty aggressively on & off the throttle going up or down

I see yours was an auto ?
I really wanted a manual, I think it'd be better mileage
but;
I was too impatient to wait (12-16 weeks) & have to order one
they were near impossible to get here
I settled for a dealer demo (1900 miles), with a big discount
did you have the tow package ?
did you have 3.90:1 or the 3.54:1 gears ?
mine has the 3.54:1, opt. limited slip front & rear
I'm going to put the lower 3.90:1 gears in sooner or later
(been saying that for 10 years now)
I have the A/C on probably 7 months a year too

just curios

when I was down in the valley, Rancho Murieta So. Sac Co.
flatlands, I got better mileage too, far more open roads
far less on & off the throttle or elevation changes
mine came with 31x10.5 Goodyear Wranglers AT
on 10/5 spoke alum factory wheels

I didn't buy it for milage :poke:
I knew the reputation before I bought it

all the changes I did to, it really woke it up
far less hunting gears to keep it in the useable power range
2200-2500 without spinning it 3500 all the time
especially up here, added about I'd guess usable 40+Hp, maybe 25+ftlb/tq

I think the slightly smaller tires helped mileage too,
that smaller tire & less weight, less rolling mass, less resistance
Seems like it's on the converter a bit more now,
works it some & having to shift down or out of OD on grades more
albeit less RPM at 55/65 should do well on a freeway
but;
the bigger more aggressive tires work way, way better
especially in the snow & mud
I'm sure they're killing some mpg

I hadn't seen or heard that, thanks for the heads up
