Whoa....

YouTube has all sorts of these. My morbid curiosity has me glued to the screen....

We had a junk car shredding operation here locally. There were old cars stacked in high piles all around it. It was awesome to watch the machine work. I used to haul old cars there when I was young, in the early 1980's. Many were muscle era cars that were just common to scrap. I sure wish I had some of that old "junk" nowadays!

shine a light down in there and I would bet you find human blood.......

I have a Mill magazine from the early eighties and it has an article about clean scrap makes good steel. Article stated a 64 Chevy yields 1800lbs of good scrap .. we shredded and baled them by the piles. Granite City Steel has its own scrap biz on the plant property to feed the BOF as the fresh iron was being converted to steel. Dad told me stories of all the cars that went thru here... sad but folks gave up on them and scrapped them. I just stumbled across a car I owned in the local yard , I sold it to a friend and he sold to a guy he worked with and there it was banged up and now getting ripped apart... kinda sad to see a good car go to waste .. it wasn’t nothing special just a little stratus coupe but it was a reliable clean car... folks treat cars like appliances.

LOL, the orange car at 9:41 still has a plate on it. You wonder what the guy is thinking after work, comes out, and where the fk did I park my car, "Dude-Where's my car?"...

Hell, I can't hold a tune but the tech today could make me sound like 'Elvis the Pelvis'...

Can you imagine the torque those shredder machines have? Those things crunch down engine blocks like nothing!

It looks like the only things that make it reverse and try again IS engine blocks and rear axles.
