Hi. I have my Charger for 3 years now. I just love it and probably never going to sell it (should go to my son in 10 years

. I have never really thought that maybe it could be a Rallye? Is a Rallye even worth more than a regular hardtop or SE?

Anyway i found some old pictures from the original state of the car before restoration (see pic attached) and it made me wonder maybe it is a Rallye?

It is a 73 hardtop 400 4bbl - vin WH23P3A130297
Bulged hood
Hood pins (missing now)
Side decals (missing now)
14” “magnum” wheels
727 trans

The fender tag is missing after paint job :(
Here are the pics from last year and now dealing with the inside (insulation, weather strips, dash etc) -

So could it be a Rallye? What defines a 73 Rallye? Is a Rallye “better” than a SE or hardtop?

Appears to be but you need a fender tag with the Rallye code or a build sheet to prove it definitively.

Fender tag with rallye package code, sport hood code or hood blackout code.

Another tail rail does it have the rallye gauges? The round ones ! Other parts are easy to swap and paint/add the gauge's most wouldn't touch . But without fender tag or build sheet you'll never know.
But if provence is found yes rallyes are worth more then base and s.e. rallyes took the place of the R/T designation in 1972.
Rallye would be the highest trim level available at that point (in 1973)

I wouldn't say that, but back in the days the SEs were the highest trim. Of course price would change depending on options between one or the other.

Nowdays Rallyes worths more that SEs, specially hardtops and being any engine but 318. Once again also depending on options and conditions side by side, but average Hardtop Rallyes are better considered and wished. So wished than is not uncommon find ppl becoming SEs on hardtops to make Rallye clones. But is just about the overal look, because aside the rear sway bar being standard on Rallyes and the 340/360 engine option just for them, there is not a noticeable performance/handling difference between Rallyes and SEs.
