For ones that think it's ok to post political crap in the regular forums

:lol:Just whatever you do, don’t mention the election. I did, but I think I got away with it...
Just to let you know, I will let a few slide until the thread goes sideways. Sometimes things stay under control. If the thread get's deleted just remember, it was your quart of gasoline that fed the fire.

I’ll get this back on track and explain where I got that line from...
The amazing old British comedy series Fawlty Towers. There is a group of Germans in the restaurant. Basil inadvertently and insensitivity wise so hammers them on the war that they are all crying. As he leaves the restaurant he remarks “Whatever you do, don’t mention the war. I did, but I think I got away with it”. Behind him you can see the Germans sobbing.

I was going to post that clip until I saw your explanation....

Oh bugger it....

Hey thanks for this, and the work Staff does

Am pretty new to posting non-technical content; and am figuring stuff out, making a lot of mistakes

Am on here a few hours most days, mostly just read, “like”, and help with the limited tech stuff where I feel proficient.

Might just got back to tech-only posts; dunno

Did get the (false) impression if everyone is posting political comments/memes it should be ok to do the same

questioned those comments/memes pretty hard it from an alternative perspective

I see that was not a good way to handle it

Are there any use-guidelines on the site for people figuring stuff out, what’s appropriate and where, to reference?

If there are, a link would be great

Much thanks in advance

Easiest thing to do is click on the 'FORUMS' dropdown box, and search the appropriate section, until you get accustomed to things around here. There are two different Meme threads running currently if that's your thing....Political & Non-Political.

Another handy tool is the SEARCH function - type in a key word (multiple keywords should be separated by a '+' symbol) and also a member name can narrow that search.

Most importantly - do not personally attack fellow members here on any pages.
