Brand "X"

A buddy of mine has a '66 and a 2020. All I keep thinking is "Holy Crap, all that cash could've bought some really nice old Mopars!"

Although I don't care for the restyle, the prior versions preferable, my only question with your premise is: if I owned a 68 Charger, why would I want to trade for that car ? Good luck, nevertheless !

There are plenty of reasons to trade, but I think the most important thing is that '68 - '70 Chargers have moved WELL beyond the realm of Mopar lovers. This is a far more fickle crowd, and one which could, in my opinion, be tempted. That whole crowd would not buy a '64 Plymouth or a '67 Dodge. But they would buy a Charger.

For the hard core Mopar freak, I would suggest it is unlikely that someone would trade. But if you review this thread, more than one has owned a Corvette. I have never been tempted in the past, but the lure of being able to drive it and then sell it and break even, or perhaps even profit, is a temptation that I decided to act on. Not many cars you can say that about, and certainly few that I would have any interest in (I am not interested at all in European or Japanese cars). I WAS on the list for the Demon, but my number never came up.

I get it. I sold a Hemi Challenger (swap) to buy my Viper. The Viper is a totally different animal and I must say for my use I would never sell the Viper to get an old Mopar now. I like to use my stuff and over the years the restorations of old cars get better and better but that comes at a price and they stay in the garage more and get driven less. Fuel injection, 6 gears, 600 factory HP, no wrenching ever, no oil leaks and if some dick marks it in a parking lot it's an easy fix.

My intent was, if I owned a 68 Charger, I certainly would not want to give that car up for a "cough" Corvette.
