Hello all ,
Going to rebuild the original 383 for my 70 Runner and am missing a few things for it .
What I could really use is a good steel crank and a set of valve covers .
They don't have to be perfect , but I don't want to have to put a lot of money into getting them in nice shape .
Thanks everyone for your help .

I think you can run any 383 crank from any year since they're all forged (?). I can't remember if any 400 cranks were forged or not (maybe 4-speeds? I don't know honestly). I think your valve covers are 70-71 specific (?) if you want to look original. You can probably figure that out using Google without too much trouble. Check the for sale section on this website and you'll find everything you need.

Do NOT Buy the AMD Replacement Covers, You will Regret It...

I have a steel 383 crank. It will need to reground. It is standard size and should clean up at .010 undersize.
$60 plus shipping

Funny I bought a set & they were great... Holes all lined up, no leaks & they look pretty correct... I've heard of lots of cases of the bolt holes not lining up... But I got what may be the only good set...

I did not get a PM
If you still need a crank I have a 69 which will work fine. Its steel and rings like a bell. It came out of a low mileage 2 barrel motor but the block was junk from mice peeing in #5 cyl. I also have rods from a 68 383 HP if needed.
