My Welcome post: '64 Sport Fury

I see your car has the red/white/blue hubcaps as well. I have been trying to find out if that was an option on the Sport Fury or standard....Yours is only the 3rd car I have seen with them including mine. Annnnd, all 3 were 426-S cars. Your car appears to be either Chestnut Metallic or Sandalwood from the photo's.

How unusual is the 426 in the 64 Sport Fury?

Not that unusual but very few were built. In 2003 Galen's registry had 8 convertible 426 cars listed like mine and 27 hardtops. I dare say there have been much more added.

No mention of the red/white & blue hubcaps in my original factory brochure. If anyone can solve the mystery please do so.

Someone hand painted these hubcaps long before I got the car. Lots of brush strokes, and low quality paint. So unfortunately I can't add a data-point on this for you.
In fact it appears they ran out of time, cause they were only able to get 3 of them done? or the unpainted one is from another set, as the red in the center has much less fade than the rest.

Chestnut Metallic.

I see...the mystery continues...I love Chestnut on that body style.

I just now realized there is a flat black section between the ribbed portion and the smooth center portion...never noticed that....I wish I knew if this was original or not.
