73 roadrunner ISO delete or not

So I'm gathering everything I need to finally get my 440,727 and 8 3/4 rear in my car but I'm stuck on making the decision on a few things. I've already bought new Firm Feel 1.00 HD/ police torsion bars and Bilstein shocks front and rear. I plan on rebuilding the front suspension and replacing bushings throughout the whole car as well. My original plan was to buy firm feel solid aluminum torsion bar cross member bushings and k frame bushings though not sure if there are negatives to these. I also was thinking about doing an ISO delete on rear as well. I plan on ordering new leaf springs from Espo's but I'm torn on if its worth it to delete the rear ISO's. My new 8 3/4 rear is all ISO as well so I'd need to weld washers into my perches and sway bar mounts and then buy Firm feel ISO delete shock plates and they are $300.00. I could spend $90 on poly spring pads and be done with it. I need to decide which way to go so I can order springs as Espo's are 5-6 weeks to delivery. If anyone has any experience with the solid aluminum bushings or whether the rear ISO delete is worth it or will poly be good enough I'd love to know. Thanks
 
I have done the iso delete on two of my cars and we just did it on my friends '73 Charger. In my opinion it makes the car feel more planted to the road and less "mushy", which was always what I didn't like about the later b-bodies. I have just welded up and redrilled the spring perches and gotten a set of the earlier spring plates and u-bolts. Using the solid spacers in the front is really no different than the way earlier B and E bodies k members bolted directly to the unibody. Direct Connection sold a cast iron version of those spacers for many years. Good luck with the project.
 
Anyone have any experience with the poly rear Iso spring pads and if the rear still feels squishy with them?
 
You will NOT regret anything about replacing all the ISO stuff with solid metal, except not doing it sooner. Police cars came with the cast iron bushings, the same ones sold by Mopar Performance. I changed out all of the ISO stuff on a 74 Road Runner I had, back in the 80's when you could find such things in salvage yards.
 
Poly bushings are a compromise between the squishy factory rubber and solid metal.

Perfect thankyou. I found a set of non iso spring plates and have them on the way for 90 bucks instead of 300 from firm feel so all I've got to do is weld washers into my perches and sway bar mounts and re drill the holes. I will order leaf springs for this purpose and get them on the way.
