Interesting that they installed the cam after the crank & rods were installed & screwed the head studs on after the heads were bolted onto the block.
It's tv they make allot of mistakes.

Yeah but I don't mind putting one in my car, just for fun.
A good and entertaining video, but evidently they don’t know the difference between first and second generation Hemis.

The valley studs are splayed out at an angle that’s different than the rest of the head studs. You can screw in the valley studs first and then the rest of the head studs (how I do it) or vice versa like done on the show.

I've been doing searches on the Indy crate hemi engine. I was looking for reviews. Everything I found was 5 to 7 years old.
Does anyone have first hand , current knowledge on Indy's crate hemi.
I'm talking about quality control, are the engines ready to run, customer satisfaction and just general reviews.
I checked the indy web site and it appears that engines are available.
I was going to phone indy next week to see what they have to say.
Just thought someone here might might have the dirt on Indy

The 2 gentleman in the video seem to have a firm grasp on engine building.
Common sense tells me that they dont build all the engines.

This one was down 100HP. Wrong camshaft installed. Headwork was not very good. I think the current ones would have to be better.

I'm quite confident in north American components.
I wonder about any chinese components.
I got a set of edelbrock e street heads. The "run them out of the box" ones.
I had a shop take them apart for inspection . They needed the seats done. How hard is it to do a proper job compared to a half assed job.
I see in the Indy video that you save $1000 if you assemble yourself.
This could be a good chance to check things out.
