It happened again today - and I am humbled yet again

Thank you guys. A lot. Seriously. :)
I wanted to make sure I had relayed one other notion on this subject this morning:
namely, that I'm not foolish enough to think I'm special in any sort of way in being
"dispatched", though....
I think everyone is "sent" on these little missions - all the time!

If anything else, that sort of answers the biggest question of all, at least for me:
"why are we here?"

Of course, me being my own worst critic, I then think of all the years I didn't hear
the calls when they came, wasn't receptive, had too much noise in my life to be able
to respond to them....for whatever reason, I failed to answer.
Sometimes, when I look back on my life now, I can identify times when He was trying
to send me and I just didn't....so I guess that motivates me to do so now even more.

Does any of this make any sense or am I just babbling. :)

No, you're not babbling, you're becoming aware. To me it sounds like a Spiritual Awakening.....
(from google)
" A Spiritual Awakening is a call to higher consciousness and deeper mental awareness. The process of spiritual awakening brings about personal transformation and a shift in one's worldview. When someone goes through a spiritual awakening they experience a shift in their mental framework."
A lot of people roll their eyes at that term because it's often connected with flower child and hippies, but it shouldn't be. Like you, I can look back and see all the times I was 'spoken' to, and just flat missed it. As I have gotten older, I'm paying more attention, but not to the point where I think everything may be some kind of 'sign'. You'll drive yourself crazy doing that. If you relax and are aware of it, it'll happen naturally, kinda like spotting an old Mopar out somewhere. You can pick an old Mopar out of a group of cars anywhere, anytime. Make sense?

I could go on but then I'd be the one babbling..........:D

I was the baby in the family and still am. I was always taken care of and coddled. When I was young, I was sheltered from things that would upset me because I was the tinder heart in the family, now, I have done hospice several times in my life and had them die in my arms. There is no good reason for me to be asked to do it and many reason it would be to much for me to do. I have found there is nothing to be afraid of and things that happen, happen for a reason. The reason, I'm not sure of, that's over my pay grade. I'm not afraid of anything anymore, including dying...... Great story Ed, thanks for being there and sharing!!

You say you’re not special. I’m God’s eyes you are. And that’s what really counts. God bless.

Glad you were there for him! We never know when we will be called on and for what purpose!
Wondering if you could share his name as I am a G.E. Lifer and probably know this gentleman?

Ed thanks for sharing, for me I always said God uses the fool and Im the fool. Dont look back at regrets because we all have them. I should of been a better husband I realized that when I lost Lori but she loved me anyway. She would remind me your lucky I love Jesus David. Man I miss her and life does seem empty. He has a plan for us all so keep on keeping on. Hope the docs can give you some answers soon my friend. God Bless Dave
Amen to that! What's the word...."vehicle"?
Yeah, we're vehicles he uses to get stuff taken care of.
When I take my nightly stroll out to the retaining wall next to the garage before bed
(and the dog does her thing, etc.), there's always "the talk" where I tell Him what's up
(like He doesn't know already, right?) and I always finish it with "I have no idea what
your plan is and I sure don't understand why you keep the likes of me around - but send me
and I'll do my best."
Most days, that doesn't mean much, what with me working from home these days...
but every once in a while, it turns out to be a DOOZY. :)

You hang in here with us, Davey. You're one of the good ones and we need all of those we can get.

TOTALLY agree. That's exactly what's up over here. I could not have put it better myself!

No my friend, I can't.
He'd be outraged/embarassed if I did I'm sure, so without permission I won't do that to him.
If you're knowledgeable of those workings in the SE of power generation locations
(read: TVA) and know the goings on with those charged with running amongst them, you'll probably
figure it out anyways.
Thank you for the kind words, though!

I enjoy your stories too Ed.

I wish I felt more comfortable sharing personal things but that Vendor tag over there keeps me in line. Far more often than not, I carry my burdens silently ... especially at times like now when they seem so overwhelming to me yet would probably be considered petty by others.

Don't ever stop being you. I bet part of your "purpose" is to help the rest of us realize there is something else besides what we know, see and reveal to others.

I dunno about all that "messenger" crap, my friend - you'd think he'd pick a better speaker than me if
that were the case!
What I DO know, though - is that YOU are one of the good ones walking this earth.
You got a soul, good Lord...what a soul x McHUGE!

I dig the whole "vendor" thing - I have to be cautious when in certain situations as well, on behalf of my own
employer. Not only do I not want to bring bad light upon them - but no doubt I'd deservedly get crapped upon
if I did - and since they've been so incredibly GOOD to me since I signed on, there's no way. Just no way.
You got that times a thousand, what with it being YOUR company and spread throughout this hobbies'
universe, so....I get it.

You've chosen in the past that I'm worthy of a chat now and then.
PLEASE feel free if the mood strikes you again.
For you, I am always here. :)

Sucks getting older sometimes & even worse
seeing the people around you getting older,
especially loved ones/family
Even becoming less mobile, because of age/life...

They don't want pity, they just want respect,
sometimes just someone to listen...

Many of my favorite people are leaving Us
I try to make their time left, as good as possible
talk to them visit them when you can...
I try to help them with the lil' things, chores shopping etc.
(I ain't no spring chicken anymore either, makes me look at the bigger picture)
Try to share some old stories & fond memories,
seems to perk them up, I know theirs perks me up...

I firmly belive we are all here on a path and a mission.

You were supposed to be there that day.

No question in my mind.

God bless

Leanna,
No one should carry their burdens in silence, that's what your friends on here are for, they share, Vendor tag or not, friends first. We all have a story, sad, happy, or just a frustrating situation of the day. No ones life is a bed of roses and many times just venting can bring closure to a bad day and help waking up the next day with a smile. I lost someone dear to me because of, I can do this on my own. When I hear the word overwhelming, I get a sick feeling. I know you're fine, but, venting is very healthy...... Ulli

I’m kinda speechless Ed, sounds to me you need your own fireside chat on here.(with all do respect) Many of us would be listening , sometimes we all get lost and wonder but the big guy up above knows what is next. A serious tip of the hat for a job well done again..

Makes perfect sense. There is way to much other stuff we deem essential that doesn't anymore.

Oh dear Lord...
You DID see those awful videos I posted on YT to the members here a while back, right?

Sir, the quality of a good man is not measured by the length of his legs but by the integrity of his character , and evidently you exhibited true integrity by caring for your fellow man in a time when he truily needed someone , Brotherly Love defined ! Agape Love !

Hi Ed. I just want to thank you for sharing your life with us. You have a fantastic way of making your words paint pictures. I’ve been reading your post for 4-5 years? And just wanted you to know how much I enjoy them and am very happy you are doing well. Thanks and God bless you. Mike

It is a long story, but definitely worth reading. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
