FOR SALE 1970 340 standard bore engine from 70 Challenger

I have a for sale very complete 70 340 standard bore engine. Vin # is 0B140040. Engine turns freely by hand. Bore size checks out at 4.030. I removed one head to measure and inspect bores. Block cast date is 7/69. Engine assembled 10/1/69. Correct X heads with cast dates of first week or September 69. Intake dated 8/69. Has 68-69 #394 oil pan installed. Valve covers appear correct for 70. Crank has pilot bushing for 4 speed. This is an excellent start for a date code correct motor for your restoration project. $1995/BO. PM me for more info. Joe

It can’t measure 4.030 so can you measure it again. Or explain how it is undersized.

OK...maybe I missed by .010 with my caliper... however it is certainly standard bore.

Caliper's not the "correct" measuring tool (for precision), but should be "good enough" for identifying. Possibly:

• Didn't 'zero' the caliper properly
• Didn't actually find widest point (the diameter line)
• 0.005" carbon ridge
