So I just saw this Cornet with New Charger wheels. Is these straight bolt ons? And will they fit other B bodies?

Are those good looking or desirable? I ask because they are pretty homely from here. They don’t help the look of the car at all.

Just opens up some cheap wheels for use. Good for rolling around the garage and when painting.Taste is subjective also

The bolt pattern is NOT the same, just different enough that they can be bolted on, AND be dangerous. Used just for rolling around a project would be fine, but a waste of money, cause i wouldnt drive on em.
Late model mustangs are the same bolt pattern as our old mopars, but the offset/backspace usually doesnt work.

First, that car is a CorOnet, not a Cornet. I see people spell that wrong and wonder how they do that when badging and emblems on the car are easily visible to guide them.
Secondly, the new bolt pattern is metric and as mentioned, there is a slight difference from the common 5 on 4 1/2" bolt circle that our cars have. Yes, they would be okay to use for moving the car around but since the lug holes are not centered on the lug bolts, they stress and bend the lugs when tightened to spec. Radial runout isn't the issue, it is that lug bolts, as others, are not intended to be clamped at an angle. I don't know how long one could drive on them without a failure but it theoretically could happen.
Also, the design looks terrible compared to a classic wheel!

In researching for wheels that fit the common 5- 4 1/2" measurement that we are used to, They seem to indicate that 114.3mm is the replacement for the old standard dimensions. Is 114.3mm the measurement that you say is close but not exact and could be dangerous?

No. The new mopar pattern is 115mm.

Thanks 33 IMP for replying. So 115mm is the exact replacement for 5- 4 1/2 and Yes 114.3mm will fit, but will be dangerous. You threw me off a little when you answered the question with a " No."

Nope, you still havent quite got it.
The old, common mopar pattern is 5 on 4 1/2, which is 114.3mm. The new mopar pattern (new challengers and chargers) is 115mm. So the studs of the old pattern and the new wheels are missaligned by about a 1/32 each.
End result, either you would be bending the studs, or the tapered seat lugnut will be working on one side of the wheel lug hole more than the other. Over time, studs may break, or lugs come loose. Either could result in a wheel falling off.
Might not happen.... but then again, it might.

Hmm , I guess when I ran small bolt ralleys on the wife's 100 mm bolt pattern Dodge mini van , that was really unsafe to say the least. Ran 2 years , no mishaps. I know I sold at least 2 sets of small bolt ralleys and one set of steels to Neon guys for winter tires.

Thanks again, now I completely understand were the problem is. Leave it to the Europeans to change something by .7mm and endanger our lives by doing so.

The new is 5 on 4.53"
Nothing to do with "european" All newer cars use metric
They probably fit but the castle nut will not be seating correctly.

...and the 5 on 100mm vs. 5 on 4 missmatch is twice as bad as the 5 on 115 vs 5 on 4 1/2.
