The making of Bullitt - the movie

Never saw this photo much as I've read about the filming! Incredible given the technology they had then to develop such a realistic view of the chase! Some two + weeks to film a 10 minute or so scene. Like to see what they had edited out for kicks.

The only piece of art that I own. When I saw it, I had to have it. Look in the reflection on the Charger and you can see the Mustang.

I dont think the dialogue is as dated as the character of frank Bullitt himself is. The strong, silent, self-reliant, candid, rugged individual man that is frank bullitt is a rare and dying breed these days. Upcoming modern men are weaklings that would soil their little panties if they saw a black Charger pulling up some yards away with an aura of murder about it...

You notice they always talk about the little pony, can’t mention the charger..

Eons ago I read some detailed articles about the prep for the iconic chase scene. A lot of this members have posted on other threads. They made all sorts of suspension beef ups to the Mustang to survive the SF streets, BUT if I recall...the only thing they did to the Dodge was turning up the T-bars...that was it. Had 600 miles on the odometer when it was killed. I'm welling up again...

I heard that they actually put skinnier tires on the Charger to try and handicap it a little to even things out with the Stang…
