i put in my rebuilt a904 transmission yesterday and when i went to go test it it has no gears. there's no restriction on the motor and it makes a whining sound in park. i'm guessing something with the torque converter. does anyone know if clogged or plugged cooler lines would cause the torque converter to not operate. or does anyone have any other ideas why converter just doesn't work all the sudden. it worked before i pulled the tranny. thanks- noah

You can physically plug the cooler lines and the car will drive. Not the problem.

who did the rebuild? Is the converter installed correctly, or stacked on the front pump gear? Is it leaking fluid from the bellhousing?

Did you use a FSM when you installed the trans ? Did you rebuild it yourself ? If not have you contacted the shop that did ?
Just imagine one of us asking you this question with only the amount of info that you are giving us.
I installed the trans and it doesn't work. Any ideas ? Really ?
Really need much more information/details.
Transmission stock rebuild ? Or valve body modified ? All linkages installed and adjusted properly ? Torque convertor installed properly ? Front pump working ?...

no leaks and it's got pump pressure. i rebuilt the trans but i'm not sure if that's the issue

Valve body plate balls in wrong spot?
