Ok….I’m stalling. I could have fired up the MN Gold weeks ago …. But still am pontificating about everything. I’ve never been this nervous about firing up a new build….I’ve checked everything a 100 times.

…… this car was such a challenge to put together during COVID that I’m just delaying enjoying it….

It's a feeling, that you don't want to mess it up. You have to drive it to find any bugs. Hopefully there are few, but almost guaranteed there will be some. Drive it, fix it, and enjoy it. Did you do a build thread? I see 2 cars in your photo garage.

Let her rip !! How will you know anything until you try to start it? If you've triple checked everything what could make you that worried?

Prime the engine with oil. Fill the carb with gas and fire it up! If anything bad going happen it's goin' happen in the future.:xscuseless:

I procrastinate way too much especially on stuff I've never done before and once I get to doing it, it usually goes pretty easily and good but there are the times that things didn't go so well and guessing that's what I'm afraid of lol....so I understand your pain. Get in there and do it! Prime it and fire it up and watch for leaks.....especially fuel leaks. You have an attached garage iirc. If so, do NOT fire it up inside just in case.

Have fun with it... Enjoy it

It will only sting for a lil' while :poke:

remember to break-in the cam properly (if applicable)

good luck, no time like the present

You've done your due diligence, waiting is only delaying your possible enjoyment!
What breaks can be repaired, hopefully nothing does!

Man, I couldn't wait to fire mine up after pulling the engine and all that work.

Actually left a few things off and still haven't put them back on yet.

Fill the carb through the bowl vents, pre lube the engine, and make sure the timing is set around 10° BTDC. You will be fine. Oh don't forget the video.

Don't wana here no excuses. Tomorrow is Saturday it's a good to start an engine.:mob::elmer::carrot::lol:
