Must Have Been in His Blind Spot

The teen guy that helps me around the house/yard never fails to give me a good laugh! Don't know if this is common to the "cell phone generation" or if he is just a brick shy of a load?

The last painting project I gave him was "completed" according to him, but when I walked back to "inspect" the work, I found a large slice of the concrete was left bare and unpainted. He pulls something like this every time, can't ever trust him to follow directions "to a tee". I always ask if he has any questions about the new "projects" that I explain when first initiated and his answer is always negative.

He is a kid.. that’s all I bet.. Patience is needed.. Something I need more of!

Next time, go inspect and if you find something he missed, ask him: "Are you sure you're done?" "Go double check". Evaluating your work is a skill that is developed.

Exactly, next time he comes by, I will ask him to go back and look for himself.

How old is he? There were plenty of times when I was excited about getting a paid job and at the same time thinking what I was going to do with the money even though I was good at saving more than half of what I got. If he'd distracted (ADD?) like I usually was, it's easy for them to do stuff like that. Had a kid doing some mowing for me once and gave him specific instructions to not point the discharge of the mower at glass storm doors or the AC unit and what did he do? Exactly that. I learned early on not to hang a dart board on a tree that was in line with the AC unit but that's different.....no one ever told me not to do that

The kid came back to perform a little more work. I asked him if he completed the last project and he answered in the affirmative. I asked him to go back and double check. He returns and admits he missed a spot. I walked backed with him and I looked at the spot and I acted surprised that we still had a small section to paint. I had him finish up there before we moved to another section.

Wifey painted this door. Kinda hard to see, square around the knob.
I'm pretty sure I had the knob off at the time.
