My ‘71 originally came with the standard running bird and “Road Runner” above the rear fender well.

My bride really likes the strobe stripe look. IIRC, the strobe stripe option deletes the running bird and road runner emblem doesn’t it?

Has anyone ever combined them? I don’t want to fill the holes for emblem.

The emblem itself is deleted but Road Runner is cut out within the bottom strobe and is shown in body color. You probably know that. FWIW, an emblem wouldn't show right on the bottom strobe IMHO.(photo borrowed from another FBBO/FABO member)edit. If you don't want to fill the holes, I would (1) get a stripe template from who you plan to get the stripe from (some vendors will do this)(2) get some very small push in Christmas tree fasteners and plug the holes and see where you end up. Cheap assessment.

Thanks for that.

I guess one could blend the two by trimming the bottom square off the stripe. Wouldn’t be factory correct but might not suck.

Might just adjust the spacing between the blocks. If you did it on the roof you might not even notice.

Or look into using the 72 stripe. The purists won't be happy tho.

As long as it looks good I won’t mind. The purists can have a say in the build when I receive some $$ from them lol.

Here's another picture for reference.

It looks like the holes for the emblem would be below the last stripe.
I guess it would look funny if you just put the emblem back on.
