Hmmm....do I detect a change of scenery in your future, Dennis?

Georgia: $20 per year, but they hit you with a 6.6% (ad valorem tax) of the fair market value of the vehicle when you first register it.

All things considered, I favor certain parts of California over any part of Florida (and some parts of Georgia). :p

The ******** in this state seem to think that they can just keep squeezing the taxpayers because the weather here is nice.

....That thinks she can spend most of your money, fart, never cook, leave your place a mess all the time, cheat on you and talk trash about your friends while bitching about your interest in old cars.

I’d eat that!

Annual "tag fees" in TN can be pretty steep according to what county.
The state gets their cut ($29) regardless, but counties can (and do) charge an additional
"wheel tax" on top of that.
The one I'm in charges a total of $94 each car each year - hence why Fred is sporting an ANTIQUE
tag on his posterior (no annual fee - ever) - and we damn near hung the county commissioners
when they raised it to that a few years ago.
I got up in the public meeting over that one and asked questions that flummoxed them - and then
had to wind up after several hours of witnessing them yelling at each other to shut the hell up and
vote already.
Local news posted it and everything. Not kidding. :)
That $94 is the end of it, though - there are no other taxes on vehicles.

Around 78 bucks each to register my pickups....Dakota or the 2500 diesel. Used to be less for 1/2 tons.

Dayam! 828 a year!? No way I could live there and drive one car!

A one time deal on the ad valorem tax or each year you register the vehicle?

I’d eat that!
Is there anything you won't eat?? :D

Michigan had my 15 hellcat around 225 last years tags, plus a 6% when you buy it, then gas tax, property tax, etc. etc. to live in a state with shitty roads, cold as hell 4 months out of the year and rainy for 3 more months, run by liberals mostly anyways. hope to be heading south for good in several years just bought a condo in north myrtle beach. gonna live there for a few years and maybe get out of the tourist area in a few more years closer to the mountains.

For regular personal vehicles including trucks, its $120/yr here in Ontario. For antique vehicles its $20.

Mark my words...when electric vehicles become more common on the roads, this yearly charge will be going up, way up.

Ad valorem the first time you register and then $20 each year thereafter.

Must be trying to discourage new vehicle sales.

NY is $25 per year, Classic or Antique plates.
Trucks like my Ram, go by gross weight, mine is 44 annual.
My Jeep XJ, around 25, annual.
They use 2yr renewals on all, except the ant/classic every year.
$21 inspection fee, yearly, for drivers.
$10 insp fee for classics, diesels.
Our insurance rates are high...

At least she would give me more pleasure then paying my fees, at least one time

Washington state, the basic fees are $43.25 a year, then some counties or localities zing you for a little more. I live in Yakima county which adds virtually nothing. Seattle, on the other hand, gets you for an additional $80 for fees, then the regional transit authority tax is ~$150 (they’re building light rail, naturally). But I don’t live in that Seattle wasteland.

We have a Year Of Manufacturer plate deal for classic vehicles...go find the right plate for your year of manufacture and pay the one time registration fee ($43.25) and never pay anything ever again.

Looks like “high maintenance” to me.

Not worth it.
