I'm sure that I could.

It wouldn't be the most comfortable or get the best mileage but I think that I'd make it to New York if I had to.

I suspect that MOST of us rarely drive our cars more than 25-30 miles from home.

I regularly drive mine 300-800 miles at a time.... You buy the fuel & I'll head for Georgia.... Not New York, I like the south allot more than New York...

The "South" is a big place. And alot of disparity. I found Georgia awesome. Alabama? Not so much. And I have yet to stop in Mississippi. I'm sure there is good folk. There is anywhere. But I also have seen some really depressed areas. That I would just assume not give a stationary target? Just as I wouldn't be comfortable driving a classic muscle thru some rougher urban areas of most any major city. Sometimes common sense must prevail?

I've already made two round trips to the USA and back for a total of about 7,000 miles with the original 318 which was rebuilt back in 1979 (according to the Fresno machine shop tag found on the block). One trip even included two full-throttle drag strip runs at the northen-most part of the trip (longest distance from home).

I would love to although it would be difficult in my current car. I've driven coast to coast before, from Miami to San Diego, then San Diego to Vegas, up to Sacramento, then to San Francisco and finally 101 to Los Angeles about 25 years ago. It was an epic trip, all.across the southern states.
I really want to go across the middle next time, from New York to Oregon through Nebraska, Wyoming , Idaho etc. I'd have to buy another Mopar in the US first.
I just love the changing scenery, the long empty roads, the different people you meet on the way.
I've been thinking of a trip down to Sydney in my Satellite. I love a long road trip. It's about 600 miles each way. The car will make it, I'm sure. Maybe over the Christmas break I'll do it.

I would do this in my GTS. Swap the bias ply tires and hit the road.

We go out on the weekends and do a couple hundred miles checking out “places”

We have done the US trip in the past, Connecticut to California and back, down through the south, back across the top home. 28 days, 27 states, 7400 miles.

Even though I believe mine would make the trip it just simply isn’t practical. it gets horrible gas mileage……then I’m looking for Non Ethanol Gas….and the cost of fuel verses mpg just doesn’t make sense…..I can put my money to better use….

I already did with my 70 Road Runner in 2015. The car is essentially the same, so yes, I could.

I am preparing my 73 Road Runner to go cross country and was going to do it this year, but engine building delays and Covid snuffed those plans. It still has a few gremlins, but I just drove it 840 miles last week. Could it make it right now? Yes. Does it have some tweaks I want to address before I do? Yes.

I would do it tomorrow with my 68, time off work is the biggest problem, don't care about gas mileage. It would be an adventure of stories at every stop that's for sure!
